Made by the people who made the dance
Global Tarraxo was founded by Gwany, Liliana de Lima and Kizzy. Tarraxo did not arrive from nowhere: it grew out of Tarraxinha in Angola, found its music in Lisbon, and became a style of its own on the festival floor.

What is Tarraxo?
Tarraxo is a close connection partner dance built on heavy bass, grounded posture and small controlled isolations. It grew out of Tarraxinha, which originated in the Benguela province of Angola, and took its current shape as Tarraxo music emerged in Lisbon in the early 2010s. It is related to Kizomba and Urban Kiz, and it is not the same as either.
Where can I get a Tarraxo certification?
Certification happens through our festivals and bootcamps rather than through a published syllabus. If you want to teach Tarraxo, come to an edition or a bootcamp and speak to us there.
How do I buy tickets for the events?
Every edition sells through its own ticket page, linked from that edition on this site. Paris 2026 is on sale now at Early Bird pricing.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes. Buy a name change ticket, then email the organising team with the original buyer's full name, the new ticket holder's full name as it appears on their ID, and both tickets. Name changes for Paris 2026 close on Monday 28 October 2026 at 12am CEST.
